Kikomun Creek, Surveyors lake Campground June 2016

Well, our annual camping trip to Surveyors Lake in Kikomun Creek Provincial Park took place this year on June 21st, 2016 and was as enjoyable as always. Within minutes of arriving, the girls had already looked like we'd been camping for a week and their smiles were worth every minute of clean up required to get them back to white! Weather cut us short by a day but overall a successful camping trip and with our minds already loaded with excitement and anticipation of a summer packed full of camping with friends and family we weren't too disappointed to come home a day early.

Tent set up is unquestionably one of their favorite times during camping. It's like having a giant fort to play in!

Breakfast time, another favorite

Here we drove out onto Gilligan's Island. Normally, in years passed, this would actually be an island. We've sat on the beach here in Waldo's Cove and looked out at this little piece of paradise and dreamt of getting out to it one day if we ever have a boat. This year, with the US controlling the water level State side with the Libby Dam, the water level was much lower. Definitely affects the recreator's that rely on this dammed body of water supplied by the Kootenay River for recreation every year.

You can see the boat launch in behind the car. Would be tough to get a boat onto the water from this launch this year

Anni was enjoying her mommy time. Helerin asleep in the car

Snack time

We had a fun play at a playground in Baynes Lake, a small community about 5 km's south of our campground.
We also travel through this village to access Waldo's Cove on Lake Koocanusa

Helerin loved riding this mechanical turtle!
